Alex Myers

Born 1953, served a Letterpress apprenticeship with a division of John Waddingtons Leeds. Went on to work in the development department, designing and building specialist print machinery, returning to production to become Print Manager and then 6 years as Repro Studio Manager.
Served a total of 34 years within the printing industry. Has been a photographer since 1973.
In 2005 formed Alex Myers Imaging.

For photography several systems are used:

Ultra High End Panoramic work: Fuji GX680 or Wista mounted on a Betterlight stage carrying a Betterlight back resolving up to 540 million pixels.
With a 10 lens compliment, (Probably the largest panoramic imager in the UK).


High End: Betterlight scanning back resolving 144 million pixels mounted for studio use on a Toyo with 6 Schneider/Rodenstock lenses, mounted on a Wista for field use. (Also use 5 x 4 Fuji film for certain subject matter).


Mid Resolution: Phase One P25 digital back mounted on a Mamiya 645 AFD or Fuji GX680 with 4 Mamiya and 6 Fujinon lenses, 22 million pixels.

Low Resolution: Nikon D200 with 8 Nikkor lenses 10 million pixels.

All digital work is processed through Capture One Pro via dual screen Mac’s.
Prints are made via a dedicated Topaz RIP using Ultrachrome lightfast inks.
